Peggy Nelson

Peggy Nelson

Chief Executive Officer

Peggy joined HealthSouth Desert Canyon in 2016. She has 26 years of healthcare experience and prior to coming to HealthSouth Desert Canyon, she worked most recently at Wellness Healthcare Partners in Chicago, Ill. as the chief operating officer for the past three years. Previous to that, Peggy worked for Marian Joy Rehabilitation Hospital in Wheaton, Ill. as the executive director of Rehab Services managing a 37 bed sub-acute unit, three outpatient rehab programs, and 259 bed acute rehab program. She has also worked as an occupational therapist and currently serves as the Affiliated State Association Presidents Chair for the American Occupational Therapy Association. Peggy earned her bachelor’s degree in occupational therapy from Colorado State University and her MBA from Benedictine University.

Dr. Bevins Chue

Bevins Chue, M.D.

Medical Director

Dr. Chue is a board certified physiatrist. He has a bachelor degree in chemical engineering from UCLA and a doctoral of medicine degree from UCLA School of Medicine in 1987. He finished his residency at UCLA/West LA VA program in physical medicine and rehabilitation. He is the former medical director of St. Rose De Lima Rehabilitation Unit, and HealthSouth Rehabilitation Hospital of Henderson. Currently he is the medical director of HealthSouth Desert Canyon Rehabilitation Hospital. Dr. Chue was featured in U.S. News and World Report, as one of Southern Nevada’s “TOP DOCTORS” in physical medicine and rehabilitation - 2012/2013.


Bevins Chue, M.D. is an independent practice physician.
Timothy Andersen

Timothy Andersen

Director of Plant Operations

Tim joined HealthSouth Desert Canyon in 2013. He has more than 20 years of experience in maintenance including electrical, heating, ventilation and air conditioning, safety, security and compliance. Tim is a certified air conditioning mechanic and holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in business administration from Grace College in Winona Lake Indiana. 

Tommy Davis

Tommy Davis

Area Marketing Director

Tommy joined HealthSouth Desert Canyon in 2016. He serves as the area marketing director for HealthSouth Henderson, HealthSouth Las Vegas, as well as HealthSouth Desert Canyon. Tommy has more than 25 years of experience in the healthcare industry and is a registered nurse and a certified case manager. Most recently, Tommy worked as the senior director of business development for Select Specialty Hospital’s Greensboro, Durham and Winston-Salem locations. Tommy holds a bachelor’s degree in nursing from the University of North Carolina. 


Krystal Freitas

Krystal Freitas

Director of Pharmacy

Krystal joined HealthSouth Desert Canyon in 2015 after several years in retail pharmacy. Originally from Honolulu, she completed her undergraduate work at the University of Hawaii before moving to Las Vegas for a master's degree in social work from UNLV. After determining her future was in medicine, Krystal pursued and earned a doctorate of pharmacy at Roseman University of Health Sciences. 

Ashlyn Kelley

Ashlyn Kelley

Director of Human Resources

Ashlyn has worked at HealthSouth Desert Canyon since 2014. She has worked in various aspects of human resources in the healthcare industry since 2009. Prior to that, Ashlyn specialized in training and development with the Sands Corporation. She holds a B.S. in psychology and a B.A. in business administration from the University of Nevada Las Vegas as well as a master’s degree in employment law from Penn State University. She is also PHR certified.

Ron Loweke

Ron Loweke

Director of Quality and Risk

Ron joined HealthSouth Desert Canyon in 2017. He has worked in healthcare for more than five years in various aspects of quality and performance improvement. Most recently, Ron worked at DaVita Kidney Care Group as the hospital services administrator for acute care services. Previous to that, Ron worked at Northwest Texas Healthcare System as the director of patient experience and performance improvement overseeing the patient experience and all of the project management throughout the acute care hospital, free-standing emergency room and five off-site clinics. Ron earned his bachelor’s degree in healthcare administration and policy with a minor in business administration from the University of Nevada-Las Vegas and thereafter, his master’s degree in healthcare administration and also holds his certification in lean six sigma, greenbelt. 

Andrew McMullin

Andrew McMullin

Controller

Andrew joined HealthSouth Desert Canyon in October 2014. Prior to joining HealthSouth, he was a manager at Deloitte, where he worked with public and private clients in various industries. Andrew holds a master’s degree in accounting from the University of Nevada, Las Vegas.  He is also a licensed certified public accountant in Nevada. 

Sharon Nash

Sharon Nash, MSW, LSW

Director of Case Management

Sharon joined HealthSouth Desert Canyon in 2016. Prior to joining Healt South, Sharon worked as a social worker and as the director of operations for home therapy for Fresenius Medical Care. She earned her bachelor’s degree in sociology from Covenant College and a master’s degree in social work from Winthrop University. Sharon has more than 15 years of experience in social work including the areas of case management in child protective services, acute hospital case management and case management with patients and families impacted by end stage renal disease.

Lupe Storck

Lupe Storck

Chief Nursing Officer

Lupe joined HealthSouth in February 2013 and served as nursing supervisor and nurse manager before becoming the chief nursing officer at HealthSouth Desert Canyon. She has spent her professional nursing career in the rehabilitation setting, striving to maximize the quality of care for her patients. Prior to relocating to Las Vegas, she served as the chief nursing officer for HealthSouth in San Antonio and served as President of the Central Texas Association of Rehabilitation Nurses. Lupe earned an associate’s degree from Austin Community College, a bachelor’s degree in nursing from the University of Mary Hardin-Baylor and is finishing up master’s degree in nursing leadership and management from Western Governors University. 

Tyler Wild

Tyler Wild

Director of Therapy Operations

Tyler joined HealthSouth Desert Canyon in 2009 after graduating from UNLV with his doctorate degree in physical therapy. Tyler has experience working in various settings including outpatient, skilled nursing and long term acute care.  In addition to his physical therapy degree, he has also earned a bachelor’s degree in healthcare administration.
