Andrea Davis

CEO

Andrea joined HealthSouth Desert Canyon in 2014. Prior to accepting her current role, Andrea worked in the medical field for over 15 years in Las Vegas. She most recently served as senior vice president of operations at Southern Hills Hospital, Las Vegas, NV. Prior that position, Andrea was the associate administrator/ethics and compliance officer (ECO) at Southern Hills. She also served as the Sunrise Health System market director, focusing on senior care strategies, where she developed and deployed tactics that encouraged improved geriatric-focused care. Andrea received her master's in health care administration from Oregon State University and master of public administration from University of Nevada, Las Vegas. She is a diplomat with the American College of Healthcare Executives.

Bevins Chue, M.D.

Medical Director

Dr. Chue is a board certified physiatrist. He has a bachelor degree in chemical engineering from UCLA and a doctoral of medicine degree from UCLA School of Medicine in 1987. He finished his residency at UCLA/West LA VA program in physical medicine and rehabilitation. He is the former medical director of St. Rose De Lima Rehabilitation Unit, and HealthSouth Rehabilitation Hospital of Henderson. Currently he is the medical director of HealthSouth Desert Canyon Rehabilitation Hospital. Dr. Chue was featured in U.S. News and World Report, as one of Southern Nevada’s “TOP DOCTORS” in physical medicine and rehabilitation - 2012/2013.

Bevins Chue, M.D. is an independent practice physician.

Timothy Andersen

Director of Plant Operations

Tim joined HealthSouth Desert Canyon in 2013. He has more than 20 years of experience in maintenance including electrical, heating, ventilation and air conditioning, safety, security and compliance. Tim is a certified air conditioning mechanic and holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in business administration from Grace College in Winona Lake Indiana. 

Laura Barton

Director of Quality and Risk

Laura joined HealthSouth Desert Canyon in 2016. She has more than 30 years of experience in the medical field with extensive expertise in quality and financial management. Prior to accepting her current role, she served as the PPS coordinator. Prior to joining HealthSouth, she served as a multiple facility MDS and case management specialist for Kindred Healthcare.

Krystal Freitas

Director of Pharmacy

Krystal joined HealthSouth Desert Canyon in 2015 after several years in retail pharmacy. Originally from Honolulu, she completed her undergraduate work at the University of Hawaii before moving to Las Vegas for a master's degree in social work from UNLV. After determining her future was in medicine, Krystal pursued and earned a doctorate of pharmacy at Roseman University of Health Sciences. 

Ashlyn Kelley

Directer of Human Resources

Ashlyn has worked at HealthSouth Desert Canyon since 2014. She has worked in various aspects of human resources in the healthcare industry since 2009. Prior to that, Ashlyn specialized in training and development with the Sands Corporation. She holds a B.S. in psychology and a B.A. in business administration from the University of Nevada Las Vegas as well as a master’s degree in employment law from Penn State University. She is also PHR certified.

Katherine L. Leone

Director of Case Management

Katherine joined HealthSouth Desert Canyon in 2016. She received her nursing degree from Trocaire College in Buffalo, New York. Prior to accepting her current role, Katherine worked in the medical field as a register nurse for 30 years. She has been a case manager for more than 20 years with 14 years in Las Vegas. Katherine’s career has focused on coordinating the delivery of healthcare services in conjunction with physicians, multidisciplinary departments and area ancillary hospitals. 

Andrew McMullin

Controller

Andrew joined HealthSouth Desert Canyon in October 2014. Prior to joining HealthSouth, he was a manager at Deloitte, where he worked with public and private clients in various industries. Andrew holds a master’s degree in accounting from the University of Nevada, Las Vegas.  He is also a licensed certified public accountant in Nevada.
